The problem

Wine writing routinely asserts that a place causes a flavour, and the reader has no way to check the chain from soil to glass.

The constraint

Every sensory explanation has to be traceable to a source, and the catalogue can only hold wines that were verified by hand.

The approach

Four reading modes over the same wine: geographic hierarchy with dated boundaries, data panels for soil, heat, rain, altitude and harvest window, authored narrative, and a sensory trace back to the causal factor with the strength of each link shown.

The outcome

A deliberately small first edition: breadth without provenance was postponed. Educational only, with no commerce, advertising or health claims.
